10th Annual Oktoberfest in Vernon Hills

Celebrate Vernon Hills’ 10th Annual Oktoberfest with friends and family. This year, the event is taking place at the Vernon Hills Metra Stop on Sept. 27. Food, beer and activities for children are included. It’s free to attend! Read below for more information.

The event kicks off at 3 p.m. with balloon artists, free pumpkins for painting and a hay ride! Families can also enjoy face painting from the Mario Tricoci School as well as lots of free inflatable toys.

The Vernon Hills Metra Station is a close drive away from Poet’s Corner, making it an ideal event to meet neighbors and learn more about the area. The Oktoberfest celebration has plenty of food and drinks to those who are 21 and older, so come with an appetite.

Oktoberfest is a large fair held in Munich, Germany for 16 days of fun. Oktoberfest beer, amusement rides and games are just some of the attractions that draw people to this annual celebration. People across the United States have created their own Oktoberfest parties that typically take place at the end of September through the beginning of October.
