Trucks Trunks & Treats

The Vernon Hills Park District never fails to disappoint with fun fall activities! The Trucks Trunks and Treats Event is on Oct. 11. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the park district invites families to dress up in their best Halloween costumes and head to The Sullivan Center Community parking lot for candy and some of the city’s most unique vehicles. The cost of this event is $1 per child, children under the age of 2 enter for free.

Didier Farms

Didier Farms is just outside of Vernon Hills in Lincolnshire, IL. Hop in the car with your family and enjoy some fall activities. Didier Farms has a farmstand with fresh ingredients, pumpkins and lots of games for children to enjoy. A perfect place for fall entertainment, Didier Farms is an ideal place to take in the changing seasons.

Pumpkin Launch

Need to get rid of your old pumpkins? Save them for the Vernon Hills Pumpkin Launch! On Nov. 1 at 11 a.m., families can gather at Century Park North (near the sled hill) to literally “launch” their pumpkins in a trebuchet. There will be other activities for kids as well. Make sure to sign up soon–the first 50 participants get the chance to launch their old pumpkins. The event’s free to watch!
